4 WAYS YOU CAN DOCUMENT YOUR TRAVELS TO CREATE LASTING MEMORIES

One of the best things about travel is that it creates lasting memories. If you’re currently travelling or planning your next adventure don’t forget to take the opportunity to chronicle your memories! For me the below are a some of the best ways to document your adventures.

1. TAKE PHOTOS

Obviously one of the best ways to document your travels is to take photos! As the saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words” so taking photos are a great way to save your memories to look back on. Today almost everyone has access to particularly fantastic cameras right inside their mobile phones making it incredibly easy to shoot photos without having to ever invest in a camera. So there is no excuse for you to not start taking happy snaps!

2. SHOOT VIDEOS

Before recently I had no desire to shoot videos because honestly it felt like a lot of work. Processing videos, cutting them together and adding effects etc. all seemed like too much work. But now with increasingly awesome mobile phones, video is now one of my favourite ways to journal my travels. I’ve realised that video is fantastic because it adds another dimension, allowing you to really feel what it was like to be in that moment. Now I used my mobile phone almost religiously to capture all the great moments I experience during my travels. So far I’ve documented my travels by taking a short one second video everyday. You can check it out here:

3. KEEP A JOURNAL

I've never been one to write. Keeping a journal has never been easy for me, I would find myself starting one and giving up on it very soon after. Recently I discovered a technique that would encourage me to write more and maintain a diary. It involves writing just one sentence a day. By limiting my writing requirements down to one sentence a day, it feels like a much less daunting task. The other benefit of this is that once you start writing the first sentence often you feel like writing more, especially if you have had a particular interesting day. I think its a great way to kickstart your writing habits. Give it a try!

4. START A BLOG

You can also start a blog. Writing a blog is not only great for keeping track of all the awesome adventures you will undoubtably have during your travels but a great way to share information, tips and have discussions within a greater community.
